Elder and Disability Care Planning We provide legal counsel and prepare essential documents, including durable powers of attorney, designation of health care surrogates, living wills, mental health directives, preneed guardian directives, special needs trusts, wills and revocable and irrevocable trusts. Medicaid Planning We advise and help implement plans regarding long-term care planning, including assistance with eligibility for government benefits and applying for Medicaid assistance when needed. Guardianship We provide assistance with applying for guardianships and with guardianship administration, including voluntary and involuntary guardianships, emergency temporary guardianships and plenary guardianships. Probate We file, administer and represent individuals and families in the court administration of a decedent’s affairs. We defend and contest testamentary and trust documents that may have been signed improperly. Special Needs Trusts We prepare and help implement third party, self-settled and pooled special needs trusts for the purpose of protecting resources for disabled and elderly persons who require or are on governmental assistance. Tax Controversy We assist clients with IRS issues. This representation includes assisting clients through the IRS examination or audit and with the collection process. We represent clients and assist them with offers in compromise, collection due process appeals, garnishment defense, installment agreements, 911s, releases of federal tax liens and federal lien discharges. Business Transactions We help individual and business clients through commercial matters, including the preparation of buy/sell agreements, employment agreements, shareholder agreements, succession planning and defending and litigating covenants not to complete.
